AIWine Sustainability
Our approach

Good wine,
lightly made.

AIWine exists to connect you with New Zealand's small wineries directly — and we want that connection to tread gently. That means a lighter route from vine to door, and a platform that puts the growers farming with care front and centre.

01 · Lighter by design

A shorter road to your door

As a virtual cellar door, we hold no shops and no warehouse of our own. Wine travels once — directly from the winery that made it to the person who'll drink it — instead of criss-crossing the country through distributors and retail.

02 · Farmed with care

Growers who give back to the land

We actively surface organic, biodynamic and certified-sustainable wineries — and the AI Sommelier can build you an entire case of them. The more these growers are discovered, the more of the country is farmed this way.

03 · Rooted in place

Keeping small wineries alive

Most New Zealand wine labels are tiny, family-run and easy to miss. Sending them real customers helps keep hand-tended vineyards — and the people who farm them — viable for the next generation.

The virtual cellar door

A cellar door
without the drive.

Discovering New Zealand wine usually means days of driving from region to region, gate to gate. AIWine lets you taste the whole country from your sofa, then have it shipped — so the only journey a bottle makes is the one to your table.

It's a smaller footprint by default: no retail lighting, no second and third sets of delivery trucks, no printed catalogues. Just the wine, and the story of who made it.

01
Ships once, from sourceOrders go straight from the winery, not via a central depot and a store.
02
Digital, not printedTasting notes, labels and the whole catalogue live online — no paper to pulp.
03
Buy a full case, not a single tripA mixed six or twelve means one considered delivery instead of many small ones.

We put the careful growers forward.

Look for the organic mark across the catalogue, or simply ask the Sommelier for a case made this way.

Organic & biodynamic

Farmed without the chemistry

From Cambridge Road to Vynfields, a growing number of New Zealand estates farm organically or biodynamically. Every one is flagged with an organic mark so you can choose them at a glance.

Certified sustainable

A national standard

The vast majority of New Zealand's vineyards are certified under Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand — an industry programme covering water, soil, energy and waste. We prioritise members on the platform.

Gives back

Wine that plants trees

Some of our wineries tie their wines to restoration — Ata Rangi's Crimson, for one, supports native tree planting through Project Crimson. We love telling those stories, and sending them sales.

What we're working on.

We're a young platform, and we'd rather be honest about where we're headed than overstate where we are. These are the commitments we're building toward as we grow.
